Are You Overlooking Your Hidden Profit Centers

Writen by Tony Marino, Ph.D.

There are other names given to "Back-End Selling". You may think of it as follow through, or maybe VALUE added. Both are good terms. Let's take a quick look and see just how you can profit from this idea.

For our purpose today, let's just key in on the benefits of "Back-End Selling". "Back-End Selling" is simply the SELLING you do AFTER the first sale. Your profits come primarily from repeat business rather than from the initial (first order) sale of your product or service.

Your greatest COST (accumulated expenses) is in the FIRST sale. This is certainly true in most cases. How long did you have to work before that first sale? Did it take you ten minutes or ten years? All the time this customer was NOT buying from you there was still the overhead to shell out.

Obviously, some high-ticket items can absorb the cost and still be profitable. You only need the one sale from a customer. However, we could probably agree that most items that we sell or buy are of a more moderate dollar value. Meaning the profit return comes from the repeat customer.

Have you ever known a razor company to give away the razor? Why? The profit is in the blades! It's happening today on the Internet. Computers are getting cheaper and cheaper. Even free when you sign up for a service. Sometimes a company will giveaway or "loan" a machine to a customer because the profit is in the supplies. This is known as "back-end" selling.

You have the challenge to find your "back-end"! How can you make more sales to the same customer? Sell more of the same product? Service? Can you offer an add-on? Related items? It can even be something entirely different. Put another way, just keep selling "something" to the same customer. Your best source of new or continuing revenue.

Many firms stop with the one (1st) sale and never realize the added profits they are leaving behind. YOU would never let this happen. On the other hand, maybe it would just be a good exercise for all of us, to ASK yourself, am I selling everything I possibly can to ALL of my current customers? Hits hard, doesn't it?

Think about it! You have been successful in making that first sale. Why? Our basic assumption is that you have earned their confidence. Trust. You have lived up to your promises. Your product or service has met or exceeded their expectation. It's only natural to believe that you will live up to this same level of competence in the future.

Search for your "USP" (Unique Selling Proposition). What is it that makes YOUR firm stand out from the pack? Are you REALLY any different? Do you offer something special that only YOU can provide? This is what separates the great businesses from the also ran. You have to be unique. Different! A visionary. Added VALUE is every customer's expectation today.

Your next challenge is to find as many "back-end" products/services as you can. There is no better customer than one who has already done business with you. YOUR greatest business asset is your customer; without him/her there is no business.

Secret Online Up-Sell Technique:

If you are operating an online business, you may want to simply add (embed) an "up-sell" product right inside your "Thank You" page.

Let's face it, your new customer has just made a purchase from you and you can rest assured that they do in fact understand the value of this freshly purchased product and/or service. Furthermore, trust in you by your new client has been realized. Capitalize! "Why not get it while it's hot?"

Over time, check the added increase to your bottom-line. Chances are, you will undeniably discover a significant positive difference.

This Week's Key Point:

Treat your customer like "Gold"! Look for new products to compliment your initial sale. Separate yourself from the plain and ordinary. Be a crucial source of information. Make suggestions. Offer unlimited assistance. Work hard at keeping every customer happy. After all, they are your most valuable business asset. PERIOD!

Happy Marketing!

Quick And Instant Marketing Soup

Writen by A.L Haines

Everything happens Quickly and Instantly on the Internet. In the blink of an eye your easily transported around a whole planet. It's a smorgasbord !! The web site you just visited could be in Singapore, the e-mail your reading now could have come from Alaska. The Internet is just one big Soup Bowl of Information just waiting for you to come and gobble it up.

We live in a world of "Everything Quick". Quick Food, Quick Money, Quick credit, Quick Advertising, Quicker Cars and the faster we get Quicker, the better!!

Not only is it possible, but it's not that complicated to achieve. Most experts agree that advertising in ezines is THE quickest way to effectively generate more traffic to your website and increase your sales.

Ezine Classified Advertising is incredibly popular which means most ezines are being filled with classified ads. Some people use their lunch time to glance over their e-mails while chowing down. The average ezine reader sees hundreds of headlines and classifieds every day, taking a quick peek to if it might be worthwhile. So, How does your Classified Ad Look ?!

The 3 things

Every ad needs 3 basic things. A HEADLINE that stands out, Quick and easy to understand CONTENT, and an ADDRESS on how to get there.

Your HEADLINE should say everything in 5-7 words or less. It should for all intensive purposes "make the sale" Some ads look fantastic using all capital letters and then switching to lowercase for the content, but on the flip side, remember it can end up looking tacky as well.

Your CONTENT should always be very specific. It has to or it becomes cyber-trash very quickly. A favorite Internet saying i've heard is to " KISS IT " or, in it's original form, * Keep It Simple Stupid !! * Big words can be overwhelmingly impressive but i have found that shorter words easily read and just work better. ..... (ironic eh)

Part 1 The Headline is your menu

How do you make eye grabbing HEADLINE? I'll bet you didn't know it's always been right in front of you the whole time, and your going to wonder why you never thought of it. Ready??..... Your email box.. It's a treasure trove of headlines just waiting to be found. Now, i'm not saying that you steal someone else's headlines. That wouldn't be nice at all, now would it!!

That doesn't mean you can't get idea's from them though. Here's a simple way to find a few "catchy headlines" (You need to do this fast OK. Really Fast!!) Every time you open your email box, Quickly scan the contents. Which one do you remember the most?

It doesn't really matter which one it was, just be honest with yourself. Begin a list of catchy phrases and write it down somewhere. If you have more than one email box use it too. (Build's your list quicker)

The next step is the Fun Part. Sit down and start butchering these Headlines!! Go for it!! Grab a word here, a phrase there, change a couple words around in a sentence. Replace words that would better identify your opportunity or service your promoting.

Soon you will have a nice selection of Headlines you created yourself. No one has a monopoly on words, so i'm certain the Internet cops won't bother you for this apparent "theft" of words.....ya think??

Part 2 The Content is your appetizer

Most classified ads usually contain around 25-50 words each. You only have so much space, and you have to say everything in a little teeny tiny spot. I can't emphazise how very important it is that the content "grabs" the readers attention. This is the meat of the ad.

Create an irresistible offer. Tantalize your readers, entice them into wanting to take a bite. Make an offer that is so overwhelmingly attractive, that they would have to be insane to pass it up. Give them a tidbit by adding something free. Anything, just make it free.

What's that?

You say your not so good at writing classified ads like that? I'll wager a bet you are!

There is a way to write great ads quickly. Yup you guessed it!! Read a few of the emails and save the ones that caught your eye. Get out the knife and cut up those ads using the same technique you used for Headlines.

Once you have 6-8 contents ads written, simply get the Most Excellent Headlines YOU created and start slicing and dicing. Mix them up, change them around until your happy with them. You might end up with over 20 different ads to chose from... (bummer huh)

CHOP-CHOP time again!! You don't want those 20+ ads... do you? Some of these ads aren't quite as as good as the others. That's OK, it's time to trim the fat anyway. Select the 5 choicest ads and remove the remaining ones

Part 3 The Address is the dinner bell

E-mail address or Website address. The person reading your classified ad has 2 options. Read the next ad or click your link. They have either eaten enough of your ad, or their ready to gobble up the main course.

Your ADDRESS is a way to get more information about the opportunity you are promoting and is achieved by putting either your Web site ADDRESS to take the visitor there or an E-mail ADDRESS to contact you directly.

You can spice up your address by giving your webpages catchy names, but a draw back is the length it may create. problem is, People don't like 86 character website addresses. Their either too hard to remember, or mistakes are made when entering it into their browser. You just lost a prospective sale right there. (another bummer huh)

Another option is using a re-directed address. There are several companies that offer this service FREE, which allows you create nice short, easily remembered website addresses. Two places that give you 3 different addresses are rename.com and iBoost.com Thats 8 different addresses leading to the same page

***Caution; It's not wise to submit these redirect addresses to the search engines because, they don't like being tricked. Duplicate sites usually get "UN-indexed" .....rather quickly and forever too!

Dinner is served! Pass the Gravy!!?

You have a visitor!! Hopefully your ad was tasty enough to bring you the Gravy too!! You got them there so give them your main course. Make sure you get a counter or some kind of tracking system set up to follow your ads progress to see which ones worked the best...... (i'll save that for another article)

Worryfree Trade Show Booth Install And Dismantle Tips

Writen by Dick Wheeler

When you work with an Install and Dismantle (I & D) company at your next trade show-- and every exhibitor must hire an install and dismantle company-- it is important to have full communications with them so that your trade show exhibit will remain intact. It is essential for the trade show exhibitor, therefore, to provide the installer with a written, descriptive, detailed breakdown of all the trade show booth items and components.

This inventory list should not only include the number, size and dimensions of the trade show exhibit items, but also a description of what these pieces are. In fact, it would be helpful to have a photo of the inside of each crate. Providing specific and detailed information on your trade show display can make a huge difference in your trade show booth installation and dismantling efficiency and cost.

A detailed inventory list provided by the trade show exhibitor that includes not only the number of crates and skids, but also a detailed description of what is in each skid of the trade show exhibit helps guard against losing pieces that may get detached. Everything should be itemized including literature, giveaways, monitors, hanging signs, etc. If these trade show exhibit items are included in detail, there is less chance for error. By giving this information to your trade show exhibit installer, they will be able to do their job more efficiently, saving you time and money. Since everyone is in a hurry as the trade show move-in date gets closer, having a list on hand in advance will help ensure a worry-free trade show booth installation on the trade show floor.

According to John Taggart of Coastal International, a Sausalito, California based company that specializes in installing and dismantling trade show exhibits, the work his employees do relies heavily on the information he gets from the trade show exhibitor.

Here are some of the installation guidelines that Taggart identifies as essentials for a worry-free exhibit:

Understand the trade show floor facility. Determine in advance where the electrical is positioned in that facility. Does the electrical distribution come from the floor or from the ceiling? If the electrical comes from the ceiling, you will need to hide the electrical hanging cords, perhaps inside a tower, and then spider the cords out on the floor and cover them with carpet. Knowing wiring requirements in advance will simplify the lighting and power process for the installer. This goes for all conventions sites whether they be the McCormick Convention Center in Chicago, the Kaiser Convention Center in Oakland, the Moscone Center in San Francisco, the Santa Clara Convention Center or the San Jose McEnery Convention Center.

Coordinate the time schedules of all of your vendors. It is important to know how to properly pace the timing of your freight carrier, drayage and installer suppliers. For example, if you are exhibiting in the Hilton Hotel in downtown Manhattan, you will need to allow extra time for freight to be delivered. This is due to limited access to hotel freight elevators and the fact that the hotel has only two dock spaces. There is also heavy downtown traffic that can cause delays. Advise your freight carrier to check in to unload at the earliest possible time. They can avoid long lines by getting to the exhibit dock well in advance of the stated move-in time.

Provide a full scale layout of the specific exhibit display including a description where each panel goes. It is best to provide this layout 5 to 7 business days before the show. Why? Exhibitors may be traveling on airplanes and your I & D handlers would be unable to reach the exhibitor rep via cell phone. If your installer has to make a judgment call, and it's a wrong one, you would need to pull electrical, carpet and other pieces and start all over. By knowing where each exhibit component is positioned, they will be able to accurately assemble the trade show booth without guesswork and thus avoid costly re-dos and down time.

Provide specifics on outbound shipping of your trade show exhibit. When it is time to break down the exhibit, be sure your I & D company has information on the correct outbound shipping address, repacking instructions and proper bills of lading.

Remember that a descriptive and detailed inventory list can save you time and money and ensure that your trade show booth remains intact. The more information your I & D handler has, the faster they will be able to do their job. If you take the mystery out of your trade show exhibit assembly, you will win the day.

Create A Business Card That Sells And Is Effective

Writen by Thomson Chemmanoor

Why does your business need a business card?

Business card is a powerful piece of card handed out to your clients or given to you by someone which has all that information in such a small space. Business cards are an important part of any business and that gives a first impression of your business to anyone. So customize the card in such a way to make a good impression about it to others.

Create a business card that conveys a sense that you are by your name, name of the business, description of your business and other contact information so that they remember you.

Design steps of a effective business card:- First of all you should be aware of what would you like to have on the business card to convey others about you. You want to focus on the identity of your business right. So you need your name, business logo, email ID, web & postal address and finally the telephone no on it.

Second step is the look of the card – Go around with the cards in your collection which was handed over to you by your friends, relative, clients even strangers and have a good idea which impress you the most. I don't say to clone it or borrow their idea but keep in mind which one stand out and which concept will suit you best.

The third and final step is the style – once you got an idea what you want. Work on the style of your business card for example if you are running a funeral home and having flashy picture on your card it won't convey a good impression. The basic example is to have a simple designed one with information about you and your business is clear and prominent.

Your business card should have the same color and design of what you have on your other marketing materials like, brochure, stationery website. Utilize the space of your card cleverly and display your information which is essential and not any unwanted information which send out a wrong message.

A business card can do more than to improve your business it can also serve as a reminder of an appointment also a direction to your work place. So the key to a successful business card design is sensible design and what you convey on the card.

A Look At Color Brochure Printing

Writen by Max Bellamy

Brochures have become vital in today's workplace, serving a wide variety of purposes. Some are quite complex and others are simpler; color brochure printing is one of the simpler options. It usually refers to printing using only a single color. Because brochures are extremely versatile in both content and use, a process that uses only one color for both text and images is a popular choice for uncomplicated brochure printing jobs.

Color brochure printing is often enlisted when there is a cost limitation, or if the job doesn't require multiple colors. Brochure printing companies will usually provide a clear explanation regarding your color options and prices, so you that will know exactly when color printing is right for you.

You can print a single color brochure at any company that prints brochures or at your local copy store. You can successfully print a single color brochure from a laser or inkjet printer, since the one-color process often does not present the same issues as the four-color process, such as image color quality and color resolution. If your job is very small and you choose to print from a small laser or inkjet printer, you can always take the sheets to a bindery or copy center to have them folded.

In color brochure printing simple images are recommended, as detail is often lost with when there is only one color. Line drawings are frequently used in single color jobs.

Color brochure printing or single color printing can be very inexpensive, especially if you use a standard weight and color paper and have a high print run; most printers have clearly marked standard options in their price lists. Remember that the more you print, the lower your cost.

Color brochure printing is an excellent choice if the brochure is being produced for basic information and communication, with less emphasis on visual appeal, thereby eliminating the need for heavyweight, high-gloss papers and multi-colored images, all of which come at a much higher cost. Finding and learning about brochure color printing and its advantages should be an educational journey, no matter how small or inexpensive the job.

Brochure Printing Info provides detailed information about cheap, color, and full color brochure printing services, and advice on finding a brochure printing company and quote. Brochure Printing Info is the sister site of Laser Toner Web.
